In retrospect, downing half a thermos of coffee in one sitting is not a great idea. But at least now I won't fall asleep while studying Japanese again or something.

Today, I found out that there is a make-your-own stir fry station in Case's, complete with a rice steamer filled with rice (well, duh. Thank you for your insightful comment). This discovery, coupled with my massive dose of caffeine caused me to run around Case doing odd chores for a bit before settling down. Now I know why we have teriyaki sauce and tofu. It's not for dipping (despite my weird habit of doing so). No, it's for Mongo style food whenever. I'm excited.

Today, I found myself with an extra hour of time.

I could have used it to read the Economist, or catch up on some reading, or start my autobiography. What did I do instead?

Look at shoes.

Story of my life.

Such a cute picture of Dorothea and Amanda, just had to post it. I love looking at Altamira's blog; it just makes the models seem so much more... real.

Side note: As of right now, it is snowing. While I am slightly disgruntled since I just finally accepted fall and started dressing more fall-like, I am mostly excited because global warming still has not beaten us. We still have hope. And because playing in the snow is pretty much the best thing ever. Besides the cocoa you drink after coming in from playing in the snow.

Literature to buy:

*Dazed and Confused, December 2009
--Abbey Lee + Where the Wild Things Are? YES PLEASE. I wish I lived in the UK so I could subscribe to fabulous fashion mags instead of praying for a coupon from Borders/B&N and picking them up there--
*British Vogue, November 2009
*Enya's winter CD [For Dad]

Oh Chloe "Doc Martens", why must you cost $690? If these were, say, $198 I'd drop the money for them no hesitation no regrets. Alas, they're not.

Speaking of which, I need:
*Black oxfords
*Doc Martens/Combat boots
*A purple cardigan

When in doubt, throw on a skirt.

Although this mentality does create a number of problems on a college campus. I feel like every time I throw on a skirt derived outfit, I get judged by... everyone because I look a lot more dressed up than others. That's a difference between Ann Arbor and MSU- everyone here wears tshirts/plaidshirts and jeans everyday. Meanwhile, back in Ann Arbor, there are people wearing... everything. Skirts. Ponchos. Kilts. There are so many odd people in Ann Arbor that it kind of doesn't matter. People here only dress up to go out to party, and even then they look like they don't know how to dress themselves when they do. Sad.

I know I said "a number of problems" which hints at more than one. However, I have a lecture to attend now.

Most people procrastinate by going to Facebook.

I myself have never quite understood how people can spend more than a couple of minutes at a time on it unless you're having a conversation with a person. I usually am not. Facebook is not how I procrastinate.

No, I procrastinate by...
*Reading about fashion
*Looking at pictures involving fashion
*Pretending to buy shoes that I know would get me killed if I ever bought them.

PS. Those Nine West Open Ceremony sandal knock-offs are on sale at DSW. They are enough for me to get free shipping. And I think I might have a gift card at home. Hm....

Haven't had such a productive night in a while-

*Caught up on my 201 reading :)
*Bought Tim's Christmas present-- I can't WAIT to see it
*Got PostSecret tickets, should be fun
*Did some laundry
*Studied Japanese
*Wrote a letter
*Didn't eat 3 times (Only snacked once and that was on Japanese tea cookies so it's okay)
*Watched an episode of The Office
*Tried watching Dr. Who. I didn't particularly like this reincarnation or the sidekick so I stopped.

And best of all? I'm going to be now. Hip hip hooray :)

I realised these past couple of weeks how much I miss wearing dresses and skirts. So, armed with tights and leggings and boots galore, I brought up a couple that I had originally sent home.

BRING IT ON, FALL.

The fact that I adore Jason Mraz is not a secret- everyone knows this slightly embarrassing fact. However, whenever I try one of those "listen to similar music!" things (Pandora, Slacker, last.fm, etc), I can't stomach any other artists that are "similar" to Jason. Especially John Mayer and Jack Johnson.

I've been wondering for a while why I love Jason and his music so much but no one else that's similar, and I think I figured out why- Jason has personality. His songs are fun and catchy and funny whereas John and Jack (oh hey, they all have J names!) may have some deep meaningful lyrics, but you have to get past the dry vocals, the mellow sounds to catch them. I find myself nodding off whenever they start singing.
